The Process. Decision overturned on review
PA sought our assistance following an enforcement visit to her business premises by the Home Office in which they claim to have identified two illegal workers and so they subsequently imposed civil penalties (fines) totaling £30,000 on the business.
E2W assisted the client to piece together a comprehensive bundle of evidence comprising detailed timelines, witness statements and employment records to support detailed submissions to the Home Office rebutting its assertion of alleged breaches of the company’s duties and responsibilities as a registered sponsor of overseas workers. We managed to establish a statutory defence against the imposition of both penalties resulting in them being waived in their totality, thereby preserving the company’s commercial reputation and status as a licensed sponsor.
“…E2W reacted quickly and decisively to our predicament and prepared a robust defence to the Home Office which resulted in the waiving of financial penalties which would have had a severe impact on us as a small business and tarnished our hard-earned commercial reputation”
